Hi, I'm Cricket,
and I write WONDER.

I SO WISH FOR YOU TO REMEMBER WONDER.

I help with this as best I can through writing enchanted, fairy tale-ish, witchy words, for those are the fun kind to write.

Wonder comes of profound astonishment that anything at all exists, or that something exists in the seemingly impossible way that it exists. It’s entirely grounded in Reality and can vanquish fear in a sudden, mysterious alchemy that you never saw coming. And yet, I write to nurture a more chronic condition of Wonder within you. Please read my work through a spiritual or psychological lens, whichever makes you comfortable. I trust you to make your own good meaning of my brewed words.

If you’d like to Remember Wonder by way of the occasional email containing a tonic of artful words and images, as well as hear news of my more formal literary doings, I’d be delighted for you to

SUBSCRIBE.

I’d like to tell you about

CRONE TALES.

They’re named for the archetype of the Crone, the Wise Woman, and they’re freely given here on this website.

These tales are not retellings.

CRONE TALES are original fairy tales for grown-ups, meant to wake you up to your truest being and provoke ‘that sense of wonder.’ In true fairy tale fashion, these tiny stories contain the impossible, which happens to be hiding in everything.

Expect a Grimm touch. If there’s nothing a wee bit creepy, it’s just not a fairy tale, now is it?

I’m currently taking a break from writing these tiny tales, but there are 42 in cache!

“It is not children only that one feeds with fairy tales.” ~ Nathan the Wise.

I live with my sweet aviation-loving husband in the stormy weather wonderland that is Florida. I have three grown and adorable sons for whom I wish a life of wonder. Mountains and lakes make me happy. Parties aren’t much my thing; I’m the quiet sort. My favorite way to work is writing on my back patio where wind blows through the trees in the divine threshold that is my back yard.

Wind! I so love the wind.

The truth is, I’m stunned at finding myself living on a planet, in a galaxy, in a universe. The sheer Mystery of it inspires me. I’m in WONDER.

I would leave you with this. No matter your philosophy or religion or belief system or point-of-view...
